How to transfer files from Android to iPhone

Are you looking to switch from Android to iPhone? Well, you are at the right place. Transferring files from Android to iPhone would have been challenging due to the difference in the underlying operating system. But, thanks to mobile app creators, we have plenty of apps available now to do this file transfer, and those apps are easily accessible via the Play Store or the App Store. Some of the well-known apps are explained below:

Pre-requisites

It is highly recommended to fully charge your phones before performing any of the following techniques to prevent disruptions during the transfer. Also, be sure you have a solid WiFi connection since the data is transferred wirelessly.

1. File transfer using Move to iOS app

It is an official application launched by Apple to transfer data from Android phones. Follow the below steps to transfer data using the Move to iOS app;

  • Install the Move to iOS app on your Android phone from the Play Store. Once installed, follow the on-screen instructions until you reach the window that says “Enter One-Time Code” as shown below:

  • Now you have to move to the iPhone. Switch on the iPhone and follow the on-screen instructions. Once you reach the “App and Data” screen, tap the option that says “Move Data from Android”.

  • You will then be given a six or ten-digit code. Enter this code on your Android phone. Now, your iPhone will create a temporary Wi-Fi connection to connect with your Android phone.

  • Tap “Join” on your Android phone to connect to the iPhone network.
  • Next, choose the type of data you wish to transfer and tap on “Continue”.

  • Wait for the transfer bar to finish. Also, keep your phones idle during this time to accomplish this task. Once the transfer is complete, tap “done” on your Android phone. At the same time, click on the“Continue” option on your iPhone and follow the on-screen instructions to finish the setup.

2. File transfer using the Xender App or ShareIt app

  • Download and install the Xender app on your Android and iPhone.
  • Once installation is complete, launch the app on your Android phone and tap on the “Send data” shown at the bottom of the screen. Furthermore, it will prompt you to switch on Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity. It is also suggested to tap on the 5G speed toggle to get a high-speed data transfer.

  • Next, launch the Xender app on your iPhone and tap on the “Receive data”.
  • When it is complete, click “Connect Android” on the next screen. It will launch the iPhone camera and allow you to scan the QR code from your Android phone.

  • Point your iPhone’s camera to the Android screen to scan the QR code, and tap “join” to connect with your Android phone.
  • Next, select the data you wish to transfer from your Android phone. Once the selection is complete, click “Send data” to initiate the transfer.

Please keep in mind that the ShareIt app also functions in the same way as Xender does. As a result, I’m not providing a separate explanation. Install the ShareIt app on your phones and then follow the same steps described above.

3. File transfer using CopyMyData

  • Install and launch the app on both phones. Follow the on-screen instructions until you reach the screen “Get Connected”.

  • Click on Wi-Fi on both devices and wait till the phones detect each other. Then, select the detected device on both phones using the app.

  • Now, tap on “Send data” on your Android device and at the same time click “Recieve data” on your iPhone.
  • The Android device will generate a 4-digit PIN, which you will enter on your iPhone as shown below:

  • Enter the 4-digit code to the iPhone and click on “Next” to enable data transfer. Now, choose the data you wish to transfer and tap “Next” on your Android phone. Once this is complete, click “Finish” on both phones.

Conclusion
The above methods are easy to use and have simple UI, which gives the functionality to transfer data with minimum effort. Some applications like CopyMyData, ShareIt, and Xender have advertisements that can be a little annoying. However, this issue is easily overlooked when compared to the functionality they provide for data transfer.
